Iza Robata
Online Ordering UX

At KwickPOS, I was tasked with designing the online ordering system for Iza Robata, a sushi restaurant looking to streamline takeout and delivery. The goal was to create a simple, intuitive ordering flow for web and mobile, while leveraging the efficiency of the KwickMENU system.

Research, Iteration and Testing

Discovery

Studied competitor platforms like DoorDash and ChowNow to understand best practices for online ordering, while gathering feedback from restaurant staff to understand both customer expectations and kitchen workflow needs.

Iterative Design

Working closely with the KwickPOS dev team, we mapped out the ordering journey, from browsing to checkout and even the backend structure. Refined flows and layouts across multiple rounds of wireframes and prototypes.

Testing & Validation

Tested designs internally and with select restaurant clients as part of a beta launch, ensuring the system felt intuitive for customers placing orders and seamless for kitchen operations.

Prototype: Backend System

In addition to the front end designs, I also prototyped the backend ordering system, ensuring that restaurants could seamlessly manage, void, refund or print orders across multiple stations during busy hours. It also gives them the ability to turn off online orders, view customer order history, along with many other functionalities.

This backend prototype was important for ensuring that the online ordering system didn't just look good for customers, but also working smoothly for staff. I worked closely with the KP dev team to test different workflows, making sure each iteration was focused on cutting unnecessary steps and making order management as intuitive as possible.
